IN THE SILENCE

I wanted nothing yet everything. I wanted to read the word, pray over many aspects and people, call my family and friends, read and write blogs, write a piece for my overdue POIEMA, meditate, study for my upcoming cats, prepare for Exec meeting, prepare for my evening activities, learn my guitar, prepare for worship experience, plan for CMF mentorship, draw my budget etc.

Yet I could hardly get myself to lift a hand. I didn’t understand whether it was physiological or psychological. But despite all my willingness to be fruitful, I couldn’t get myself to do the least of them all.

My body wasn’t offering any help. My head was throbbing, and my heart arrhythmic. So I pulled myself down the blanket and hoped that a small nap would lighten the moment. And in the silence I murmured to the one who could save me, “Lord strengthen me.”

Many are the times I have probably found myself in such situations. Moments when even making a call to a friend seems impossible. And in these moments I have constantly been aware of the friend who sticks closer than a brother. He is not limited by seasons or places. And he constantly reassures us of his presence.
John 14:18-19 ESV [18] “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. [19] Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live

So today I rejoice in my Lord my God. And in my fewness of words I will sing with the words of the Psalmist.
Psalm 145:1-3, 13-19 ESV [1] I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. [2] Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. [3] Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. [13] Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. [The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.] [14] The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. [15] The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. [16] You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. [17] The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. [18] The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. [19] He fulfils the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.

Psalms 139:7-10 NIV [7] Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? [8] If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. [9] If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, [10] even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast

Why then my soul are you downcast, why are you troubled within. For I will yet praise Him!!!!
