Romans 6:23, which states:”For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Death – end of the life of a person!
Darkness – lack of light
Sin – going against God’s law
When sin entered the world ,darkness consumed us – an airtight seal around us – and along with it, our thoughts ,words , actions and even in the totality of our lives; we ate ,drank and breathed darkness.
The worst part is – that it carried through even in death .For God put it upon us that when we disobeyed Him we might no longer be able to live long (Genesis 6:3). Before the temptation at the garden of Eden, mankind and everything was created for eternal goodness but as a consequence of our disobedience, death became a reality.
But that was it ,after death nothing else, it was death and darkness. There was no hope after that and that is why many feared death for it literally meant the end.
Isaiah 25:8 “He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth
Many prophecies later, our Savior was born! Jesus Christ who brought up redemption and glory from the Father and along with these, many values and lessons; first Love, then Hope!!
Jesus came and definitively overcame death and all that sin had brought with it!!!🙏 And by doing so, power was restored back to us. That all who live in obedience were now called to the Kingdom through everlasting life ✨
Corinthians 15:26 “For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead”
In the days of old, God tried to save the righteous Enoch and Elijah ,the rest it was inevitable.But how great is Our God! That we are now redeemed and free from death! That we no longer fear the end for it was “finished”.
Let us now live like people who do not fear death but in obedience to our God. The seal has been broken and we can now breathe life.❤️
Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV
[4] But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, [5] made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me”
2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord”
